The PROMETA® Treatment Program

The PROMETA Treatment Program is an innovative integrated treatment protocol* that includes an integrated delivery of the following:

Treatment targeting cravings, withdrawal and anxiety
Nutritional support
Psychosocial care

Key points to consider:

The PROMETA Treatment Program is different from traditional therapies – such as group therapy, abstinence and behavioral modification – that focus solely on the psychosocial aspects of the dependence.

In addition to providing integrated, nutritional, and psychosocial support, the PROMETA Treatment Program focuses on the underlying physiology of the disease and targets the brain receptors thought to play a central role in the disease process to address such physical symptoms of dependence, such as cravings, withdrawal and anxiety.

While comprehensive in nature, the PROMETA Treatment Program encourages the use of self-help groups such as A.A. and N.A. Addressing the physiological symptoms of addiction may help substance-dependent individuals attain greater success with self-help groups and traditional psychosocial therapy.

Catasys™ Enhanced Disease Management for Substance Dependence

Catasys integrates medical and behavioral therapies to help your organization treat and manage your substance-dependent population to improve outcomes and impact both the medical and behavioral costs associated with substance dependence and the related co-morbidities.

*Clinical studies are under way to evaluate the PROMETA® Treatment Program and to confirm reports from physicians providing the PROMETA® Treatment Program in their practices. Only a physician licensed to treat with the PROMETA® Treatment Program can determine if it is appropriate for any individual patient. The medications used in the PROMETA® Treatment Program are Food and Administration (FDA) approved for uses other than treating dependence on alcohol, cocaine or methamphetamine. Therefore, the risks and benefits of using these medications to treat dependence on these substances have not been evaluated by the FDA.
